Friday and Saturday saw no tasks although we did enjoy a very nice buffet put on by the Inn on the Green on the Saturday night.

On Sunday we did get a task - a 45 km elapsed time race from the Mynd to Stourport on Severn. Winds gusted to over 20mph on take-off which meant that window opening wasn't as quick as some would have liked, and by the time the window did open the sky didn't look particular encouraging.

Despite the strong winds at take-off once on track everything slowed drastically. Everyone agreed it was hard going - it took over two hours for task winner Tony Spirling to cover the 42k race section. Richard Butterworth was 2nd and Malcolm Davies 3rd. 9 pilots made goal with the rest spread out along the track, making for a high scoring task. For the first time this year we had a task where more pilots exceeded min distance than not.

The forecast for the Monday looked promising, but we woke up to rain and the day was canned. A presentation followed - Alan Ford took the best newcomer award, flying his Golden 2 just 5k short of goal.
