This is for a week of guiding in the local area in the week preceding the Macedonia round of the competition. The competition round is booked separately here.
The BPCup training week will give you an opportunity to really hone your competition skills. You will be programming your instruments and flying tasks very similar to those set during the actual BPCup competition.
The purpose of training week is to maximise your knowledge of the area and how competition flying works within it, all the while flying mock tasks alongside our experienced guides.
The week will begin with a detailed presentation of the area and how to fly it. Each flying day will feature a set task designed specifically to be flown as a group. This will give you the opportunity of learning about the area, possible task choices, how the local terrain and the conditions work. We will de-brief at the end of each days flying, explaining the thought process behind task setting, the all important comp tactics and why some pilots are more successful than others. The week will also feature a fun and informative presentation highlighting the tips and pitfalls of competition flying.
At the end of the week you will have a working knowledge of the local topography, weather conditions and potential tasks, be confident in flying the area and be well on your way to becoming a fully fledged competition pilot.
As with the competition itself, you will need proof of current BHPA membership and proof of insurance which covers you for flying abroad. We also require you to have a working radio and headset for 2 way communication in the air.
Trackers, minibus to and from take off and all retrieves are included in the price.
