Sopot Round 2023

Sadly, we once again lost a UK round due to the weather and had to cancel our planned April round in the Yorkshire Dales. However, our bookings at The Dalesbridge have been held over and we will be back there again in May 2024 with fingers firmly crossed for some good flyable conditions.

Pennine Round 2022

2022 was the first year back for the BPCup following a two year break due to the Covid 19 pandemic which put paid to many sporting activities.

Fortunately, although only having one round, our pilots were able to enter their flights in the UK XC League and thus earn points towards their overall scores in the competition.(see Rule 16 under Rules for details of the handicap system).

Macedonia Round 2018

2018 is shaping up to be a top season for the BP Cup.

Following on from the Pennine round in June (with 4 valid tasks) the BP Cup tried something different and put on a foreign  round in Macedonia.

The thought behind this was to hopefully guarantee some better weather and to introduce a new group of pilots to a foreign comp setting, with the different terrain, conditions and task setting that allows.

Well what can you say, a long weekend ahead and a forecast of South to South West wind and thermals for 4 days. Be serious, it is North of the Watford gap and we are only allowed sunshine for 1 day at a time.

Peaks Round 2017

British Paragliding Cup 2017 (Peaks Round) 5th - 12th August August is the new October. It may be a bit warmer, the days a little longer, but the depressions rattle in from the Atlantic with all the energy of Autumn storms. It’s never a good month to hold a paragliding competition - but still we persevere.
